Alan Beckley’s story will sound familiar to most inventors. While taking a shower in 2002, he got an idea for an invention that he absolutely, positively, never a shadow of a doubt, knew would make him a fortune !!! And the journey began.
He got 2 patents and when licensing attempts were met with, no thanks, not for us, we’ll pass, he manufactured it himself, selling it at fairs, festivals, all the usual places. His customers absolutely Loved his product, a wallet that could hold more than the average wallet but was less than a quarter of its’ thickest and much more comfortable because it bent in the middle which he called the Savvy Caddy. Still, retailers and manufacturers were skeptical.
Finally, in 2009, he was able to get on QVC where he was able to sell thousands of units. Do you think he sat back and rested on his laurels? Heck No !!! He spent the next 5 plus years trying to get into the DRTV or As Seen On TV market. In 2015, AllStar Products licensed his invention, renamed it the Wonder Wallet™ and sold over a million units in its’ first year.
His success is not only a testament to his perseverance, it is a record of all the knowledge he learned along the way through the collage of hard knocks.
