Dennis & Mary Lou Green

DIY Licensing

Dennis and Mary Lou Green gave us a spectacular, eye-opening meeting by Skype back in February 2017 on how they got their products into major retailers. So recently when I ran into them again at another event, I had to ask them if they were interested in giving us another presentation. Obviously they agreed.

This is one of the most energetic couples I have ever known. Not only do they mentor budding entrepreneurs through their website www.bigideaschool.com, they also help guide people to an amazing marital relationship like the one they have had for the last 42 years through www.dennisandmarylou.com. Plus they are both prolific authors https://amzn.to/2MPk0nQ . In their spare time, they have been licensing products.

Dennis sent me a list of topics that they plan to cover and I’ve got to say, it is as ambitious as their general lifestyle. The secret of their success is that they work together in a way that compliments their strengths.

The world of licensing is fraught with pitfalls. Things you would never even consider. I personally know several inventors who signed a deal for 2 or 3 years after which the licensee knocked off the product and the inventor couldn’t do anything about it. This happens a lot in the DRTV business.

The list that Dennis sent me reads like the essence of what to do and not to do when negotiating a licensing agreement. This is going to be a no-holds-barred, nut-and-bolts presentation. Actually, even if you plan to bring your product to market yourself, the information from this presentation will be invaluable when negotiating any agreement.

Most inventors consider a licensing agreement the Holy Grail, leaving all the heavy lifting of manufacturing, developing retail clients, advertising, shipping, etc., to the licensee. Many feel this allows the inventor to do what they do best, which is to invent more products.

It doesn’t matter if you are just starting the journey, almost ready to license your product, already have a licensing contract, or are anywhere in between, this is crucial information that you need to know, but the only way you’re going to get it is to register by clicking the link below, then log in as instructed by the return email before 1:00 pm on Saturday 7/11/20. There will be NO recording made. You must attend in person.
