CALL FOR MORE INFORMATION: Thank You for your interest in becoming a member of the Inventors Society of South Florida (ISSF). You will be joining a group with a very impressive past and an even more exciting future. It was formed in 1983 to educate independent inventors about the proper way to protect their intellectual property, help get their products to market and how NOT to be seduced by certain organizations that promise a get rich quick possibility but rarely if ever produce results.
As far as this last issue from the paragraph above, 2 of our members participated in a government sting operation that culminated in the Inventors Protection Act of 1999. This gave us the right as well as a list of pertinent questions to ask a company we were considering doing business with, that they Had to answer in writing.
Today we are on the forefront, working with other groups to support legislation that will improve the patent process and intellectual property rights, formulate a dialog with corporations to improve relations with the Independent Inventors Community as well as define a better system for evaluating potential projects, overcoming their deficiencies on paper Before spending any money which should produce better results. To that end, we bring in experts in various fields as monthly speakers to encourage the creativity of the group while keeping focused on the business issues that seems to be the biggest stumbling block to success for most inventors.

We are actually quite inexpensive, $60.00 a year for the basic membership to which family members and significant others living in the same space can be added as non-voting members for $15.00 per person for the same year.
Your membership is a donation to keep the organization going, paying our bills and for programs that will help the Independent Inventors Community. Really, what we want most of all from you is your participation. All of our officers, board members and committee members are Volunteers.
We are always looking for more volunteers so we can increase our programs for you. There are certain member only benefits like listing your products for sale or projects looking for licensing on our website, preferential treatment from some service providers, personal support from our staff and hey, it looks good on a resume or Linked In Page.
